New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie SAYS he would at least listen if Mitt Romney asked him to run on the Republican presidential ticket.
But the way I figure it, Romney won’t make any firm offer in that regard.
Three reasons:
1) Christie is something of a loose cannon. He easily loses his temper and would likely be goaded into saying something he would regret.
2) Romney seems unlikely to choose a running mate who might gain more media attention than he does. That’s the same reason why he won’t pick Paul Ryan.
3) Christie’s statements on certain issues — immigration, global warming, gun control, education, Islamophobia — are sometimes at odds with right-wing orthodoxy.
