U.S. Army dumps Ted Nugent from summer concert lineup

In light of his violent rhetoric about President Obama, rock musician and right-wing activist Ted Nugent has been SCRATCHED from the lineup at a concert scheduled for an Army base early this summer:

Nugent had been scheduled to headline the June 23rd concert at the Kentucky military base, along with REO Speedwagon and Styx. But the controversy he attracted last week when he told a group of NRA supporters that he would be “dead or in jail” next year if Obama was reelected did not sit well with Fort Knox’s leadership.

“After learning of opening act Ted Nugent’s recent public comments about the president of the United States, Fort Knox leadership decided to cancel his performance on the installation,” read an announcement posted to Fort Knox’s Facebook page.

  1. Guess it’d be better if convicted, and close buds with Obama, Pentagon bomber Bill Ayers was in the line up huh? Maybe FK security can get some help from the New Black Panther Party too. They’re always up for some hard-line intimidation. Or say self avowed Communist Van Jones? He’s always got something riveting to divulge.

  2. bill: The only people who care about the Bill Ayers issue are pathological Obamaphobes like you.

Let me straighten you out on a few things:

Bill Ayers has never been a close friend of Barack Obama. Ayers served on two nonprofit boards with Obama. Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, hosted a gathering at their home in 1995, where Illinois State Senator Alice Palmer introduced Obama as her chosen successor. Ayers has never been a political adviser to Obama.

Bill Ayers has never been convicted of a crime. He was accused of certain violent activities, but the charges eventually were dropped. Obama was eight years old when those activities occurred, and he has subsequently condemned them as “despicable.”

This Ayers crap didn’t work for you wingnuts in 2008, and it won’t work this year either.
