Poll: Nearly two-thirds of likely voters support Obama’s directive on young illegal immigrants

Most Republican voters don’t like the president’s regulatory version of the Dream Act, but just about everyone else does, as we see HERE:

President Barack Obama is winning the opening round in the battle over immigration, according to a Bloomberg poll released today, putting Republicans on the defensive with his decision to end the deportations of some illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.

Sixty-four percent of likely voters surveyed after Obama’s June 15 announcement said they agreed with the policy, while 30 percent said they disagreed. Independents backed the decision by better than a two-to-one margin.

The results underscore the challenge facing Mitt Romney and Republicans as they try to woo Hispanic voters, who are the nation’s largest ethnic minority and made up 9 percent of the 2008 electorate, according to a Pew Hispanic Center analysis of exit polls. Obama won the Hispanic vote 67 to 31 percent over Republican John McCain in 2008, according to exit polls.

The decision left Republicans struggling to respond, trapped between alienating their political base and sending a negative signal to the Hispanic community and independent voters. A majority — 56 percent — of likely Republican voters opposed the decision, while almost nine in 10, or 86 percent, of Democrats supported it. Sixty-five percent of independents backed the policy change, while 26 percent disagreed.

Romney, the presumed Republican presidential nominee, has refused to say whether he would reverse the decision if he’s elected.

Every American knows this poll is BS. The Dream Act has failed every time introduced in our U.S. Congress, because the American people have made it clear: NO MORE AMNESTIES for trespassing ILLEGALS. It is TREASON and RACIST to allow MILLIONS of ILLEGAL ALIENS to Break our Law and instead of Deporting them, punishing them, you Reward them. The RACISM comes in, when you say, these ILLEGALS deserve SPECIAL PREFERRED TREATMENT, because the majority of them are of a certain ethnicity, hispanic. RACIST to the core. To tell Americans, “No matter how tough life gets for you, if you break the law, you will be punished” but, if you are an ILLEGAL ALIEN you are above the Rule of Law. The only victim in the organized crime of ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, are the American people. They are being discriminated, against, based on their National origin. They are AMERICAN.

  2. Annie Jo: “Every American knows this poll is BS”?

You may think the poll is BS, but you don’t speak for every American or even most Americans — thank God.

Let us know when you find a scientific poll that differs from the one cited here.

    (Cue the crickets.)

  3. Hey Annie Jo, there are more of us than there are of them. And by that I mean yes, most Americans that are registered voters, will oppose Obama this fall. The liberal left is having a hard time, and is frankly running out of their own clout, coming to the aid of this jerk. The poll is nothing but a weak attempt to connect a lawless act by Obama to some sort of main stream group think scenario. Pat, we’ll see what most Americans think in November:)

Bill, you are so right. The Traitor in Chief, will be kicked out of our White House in November.
