Revealed: The Mittness Protection Program

It says HERE that Mitt Romney’s handlers are shielding him from mainstream journalists and instead playing patty-cake with such far-right conspiratorial Web sites as The Drudge Report, NewsMax and Breitbart.com:

From the beginning of the campaign, Romney has pointedly avoided news outlets who might pose tough questions. The press dubbed it “the Mittness Protection Program.” As the campaign wore on, Romney has refused to answer direct questions about major policy issues central to the campaign. For example, Romney has still not stated whether he would undo Obama’s order ending deportations for many young undocumented immigrants.

Romney campaign spokesman Lenny Alcivar recently outlined how the campaign will avoid journalists and coordinate and communicate their message through Breitbart.com and the Drudge Report.

Its probably just temporary until Romney formally receives the nomination next month. The Romney team knows that if expects to win, they eventually have play nice with the lame street media. They are simply too big of a presence to ignore forever.

  2. There’s no attack too stupid for Drudge and Breitbart. Just supermarket tabloids on the net.

  3. The only person on Fox News who would dare pose a challenging question to Romney is Chris Wallace. But then, he’s on only on Sunday mornings, right?
