What happened yesterday in the hamlet of Slinger, Wis., which is just up the road a piece or two from Applesauce World Headquarters, is something I would never have expected.
Republican Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (above), a man of decidedly conservative bent, admirably talked back to a constituent who apparently endorsed Michele Bachmann’s latest Islamophobic crusade.

Footnote: Sensenbrenner was mistaken in crediting Thomas Jefferson with authoring a certain part of the U.S. Constitution. Actually, Jefferson had nothing to do with the drafting of the Constitution. He was in France when it was written.
