Why do people in Republican states tend to be fatter?

Having lost about 35 pounds over the past few years, I feel no sense of hypocrisy in making light (so to speak) of the map above.

  1. This country is extremely obese as a result of poor food choices which leads to disease and disability. Guess we just want to keep the healthcare industry profitable.

    There are no limits or depths to which you won’t stoop in your chidishness. Evidently no pride, either. Makes sense, though.

    I really want the big government they love so much to control every facet of my life so I can conform and be politically correct and cool.

    That really is the only valid way to achieve satisfaction you know.

    Red states give more money to charity than blue states, according to a new study on Monday.

    The eight states with residents who gave the highest share of their income to charity supported Sen. John McCain in 2008, while the seven states with the least generous residents went for President Barack Obama, the Chronicle of Philanthropy found in its new survey of tax data from the IRS for 2008.
