Over the past 24 hours, countless pundits have been chortling like mad at CNN’s mistaken report yesterday that an arrest had been made in the Boston bombings.

Political satirist Jon Stewart devoted a WHOLE SEGMENT last night to chiding CNN for its error.

But let’s be fair about this. Fox News made the same mistake (see photo above). Nor was CNN the first news outfit to declare that an arrest had been made. The Associated Press was.

Check THIS TICK-TOCK on who reported what and when.

I’m happy to say that here at Applesauce we HEDGED OUR BETS on the matter of an arrest.

  1. I have to agree with a comment I read earlier. Both CNN and Fox are fillers between commercials.

    Steverino,

Yeah, but do you remember when it was Fox that jumped on that “story” of the McCain worker who claimed someone knocked her down and carved Obama’s name on her belly – backwards? Fox thought they had the anti-Obama scoop of the year and went ballistic with it. All the other networks figured out real quick that she did it to herself. But not Fox.

The reason everybody is jumping on CNN is because you expect lies from Fox your used to Fox telling absolute BS storys all the time….while im not a big fan of CNN they have a much higher standard for news …thats why…!!
