If Newt Gingrich would only read my blog, perhaps he wouldn’t make mistakes like this

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: If some of these prominent right-wing nitwits would only take the bother to read this award-winning blog on a regular basis, they wouldn’t so often make fools of themselves.

Take, for example, the widespread myth that former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shuman visited the White House on 157 separate occasions between 2009 and 2012. It simply isn’t true, as I noted HERE last week.

But just days later, Bill O’Reilly was on Fox News peddling that same bit of fiction to his gullible viewers, as we see here.

.

And then, just last night, Newt Gingrich was on Fox News with Sean Hannity and said this:

When you learn, for example, that the commissioner of Internal Revenue visited the White House 157 times, more than the attorney general, more than the secretary of state, more than any cabinet officer, 157 times, you have to ask yourself, “What were they talking about? What were they meeting on?”

Upon reflection, perhaps both O’Reilly and Gingrich know the truth of this matter but prefer to play the geezers who regularly watch Fox New Channel for the suckers they are.

    Exactly.

Too bad they can’t be hooked up with an audible truth detector like the one Johnny Carson used in one of skits when he played a politician. Buzz, buzz, buzz.
