A little story about my weekend fishing trip in Wisconsin.

One of the guys that came with us is a hard core republican who just hates welfare…as he put it. This man mows lawns during the summer for his only job. he is around 50 years old and lives with his mom and dad in there basement….he repeetedly told us how he hates someone getting free food and cell phones from him…and all that other free stuff THEY get..

Then I had to ask him….so how much do you pay in taxes…he doesn’t he works for cash…?
then I asked how much he pays his mom and dad for rent…nothing he says I cook for them because they are old…so you buy the food so how much do you spend on food every week…again…nothing.

When I pointed out the fact that he was living off his mom and dad and he paid no taxes or food cost and acording to him he was against this …his answer and I swear…well Obama wasn’t born here ….and that ended our debate about polotics…

I think we would call that enabling behavior.

He is a living example of what is wrong with liberal social welfare politics.

Thanks for the supporting evidence Brian.

Did you miss the part where he told you the guy was a hard core Republican, doc? Those type of people are on the Republican side as well.

The example tex, not the guy.

If Brian’s story is true, he is living a microcosm of the idealized liberal socialist state. It doesn’t seem to be going too well though.

    doc,

Where I live we had a s-pile of rightwing farmers, etc. They get Dept. of AG checks. They get subsidized irrigation water from Bureau of Reclamation. They get subsidized electricity from Bonneville Power Auth. They send their kids to public schools. They drive on public roads. They fly out of publically owned airports. They ship their grain on Corps of Engineers maintained waterways through COE owned locks and dams. They get assistance from Washington State U extension service and vaccinations from the County Health Service. Etc. Etc. Etc.

And I’m not even mentioning the thousands of rightwingers that work at the DOE funded Hanford Site ($2+ billion per year). That’s another group.

And do you know what else they have in common? They all bitch and whine about liberals and socialism.

It’s going better than you want to admit.

Doc, the hypocracy from this guy was sickining…standing on pinciple is one thing living the lie is another…he absolutly didn’t see that he was living and eating for free while complaining about somebody else doing the same.

Republican farmers who have congress in there back pocket giving themselves grants and taxpayer money while voting to lower the money going to feed the poor. oh the hypocracy

Actually, all ten are Southern States…that makes the article a little more interesting too. Missed oversight I guess.

  8. Brian Opsahl

I could never understand why the poor in the South vote for republicans…? When republicans vote against everything that might help them get out of that situation…?

Same goes’ for our Women …why would any lady vote for a party that constantly votes against them and their right’s.

  9. Love S.

I agree Brian. It’s more about education, upbringing and probably brainwashing too. If you are poor, a woman, a minority or gay, you should realize that conservatives use your vote to support the very causes that oppress you further…it bothers me when I see blind followers and when you give them the information, they defend it and still turn a blind eye to the facts. Some are waking up though.

This war on our Women also confuses me why any Women would want a man making a health care decision for her and don’t get me started on these rape laws there trying to implement in all the republican States…?
