Show of hands: Who’s in favor of holding a new constitutional convention?
Daily Kos, a liberal website, is running an online poll this morning on the question of whether America would do well to hold another constitutional convention.
Interestingly enough, despite the presumably leftish bent of most readers of Daily Kos, the survey results at this writing are fairly close: Thirty-six percent of respondents are in favor of holding another convention, while 48 percent are opposed and 14 percent aren’t sure.
The Daily Kos poll is unscientific, of course, but I somehow suspect that a more careful survey of the general populace would similarly show a deep division on the question of rewriting our national charter.
How would you respond to that question? And why?
