Fox News guy says Chris Christie is too manly for this feminized world

Just when you think the talking heads on Fox News Channel have exhausted their supply of ridiculous comments, something like THIS comes along:

Fox News commentator Brit Hume on Sunday said that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) happens to be just too manly for the feminine world we live in today.

“In this sort of feminized atmosphere in which we exist today, guys who are masculine and muscular like that in their private conduct, kind of old-fashioned tough guys, run some risks,” Hume said on Fox News’ “Media Buzz.”

Hume explained his take when questioned by co-host Lauren Ashburn.

“Men today have learned the lesson the hard way that if you act like kind of an old-fashioned guy’s guy, you’re in constant danger of slipping out and saying something that’s going to get you in trouble and make you look like a sexist or make you look like you seem thuggish or whatever,” Hume said. “That’s the atmosphere in which he operates. This guy is very much an old-fashioned masculine, muscular guy, and there are political risks associated with that. Maybe it shouldn’t be, but that’s how it is.”

  1. I usually like Bit Hume, but that comment makes no sense. First, let’s get real. Christie is not a muscular guy. He’s fat. 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis is a muscular guy.

Second, some on the right think it’s some kind of media conspiracy that they are going after Christie. I disagree. If Christie did order a highway closure out of spite then that is a felony. The media has a right to investigate him and the public should also demand a federal inquiry. Personally, I honestly believe Christie when he said he didn’t do it. All this will eventually blow over.

  2. Steverino

For the length of time Christie has been in office he’s had time to clean up his politics and lose enough weight to view his feet. Now he may go the way of Illinois governors.

  3. So get this. Cristi is all upset about MSNBC. Says they’re partisan. Really? Of course they’re partisan. The difference between them and FOX News is they don’t bill themselves as a news channel that’s fair and balanced, like the frauds at Fox News.

On a similar note, Heard an interview recently by author, Gabriel Sherman, on a newly released book about Roger Ailes called The Loudest Voice In The Room. He has 30 year old memos by Ailes and associates who were creating FOX News that said how they would present news as fair and balanced but it wouldn’t be. Of course Ailes and company are out demonizing him since the book came out. He gave Ailes multiple opportunities to dispute the information he presents and Ailes ignored him. Now Ailes is playing the victim role. If there’s any reason to support the division amongst the people in the USA, it’s the fault of FOX News who destroyed journalism in the name of partisan political views masquerading as “fair and balanced, you decide” BS. And the right sucked it up because he knew how to appeal to their prejudices and fears.

Back to the subject at hand, I used to like this guy Cristi. Now I hope they throw the book at him. What a fraud. If this guy ever gets elected to anything in the future we’ll see just what dirty politics Chicago style looks like on steroids. Is this Cristi somebody you want with access to the NSA database on all of us. Hell no.

  4. Here is why I usually like Brit Hume as he recently CRUSHED the “Hurt Feelings Industry” in this short commentary:
