What will wingnuts do now that Obama is gone?

35185ffa-s

Today’s transfer of power in the White House is fraught with ironies, not the least of which is that polls show that the outgoing president is much more popular than the new guy.

More to the point, the departure of Barack Obama deprives the right-wing crazies, a noisy minority, of the principal target of their political invective. The time has passed for Obama to do all the evil deeds the wackos have long predicted. He wasn’t born in Africa. He’s not a Muslim.  He didn’t seize everyone’s guns. He didn’t preside over an increase in immigrants from Mexico. All in all, his record as president disproves most of the nonsense  embraced by his fevered antagonists.

A poll conducted earlier this month showed that a sizable number of Donald Trump supporters believe that stock prices declined during the eight years of Obama’s presidency. In reality, they more than doubled, rising by more than 11,000 points. Two-thirds of Trump’s backers also said they believe that unemployment increased under Obama. Actually, it was reduced by more than half.

The scandalous reality regarding the falsehoods about Obama is that lots of Republican politicians who know better are reluctant to dispel the crazy notions embraced by the rank-and-file extremists. A Republican whose constituents believe  baseless slanders about a Democratic president is not likely to argue against them.

The flip-side to all of this is that Republicans tend to regard Ronald Reagan as their party’s patron saint, despite his actual record as president. He raised taxes 11 times. He advocated gun control. He compromised with Democrats. He traded arms for hostages — and then lied about it. More than a few of his Cabinet members and aides were indicted for federal crimes. (None of Obama’s people were formally charged with illegalities.)

On the whole then, Barack Obama has not been nearly as bad as the right-wing fools pretend, and Ronald Reagan was not the paragon of conservative virtue his Republican worshippers believe.

Donald Trump has little in common with Obama or Reagan. His presidency will succeed or fail on its own merits — or lack of them. The fact that he comes into office with lower ratings than his immediate predecessor makes the challenge he faces all the more daunting.

  1. Left wing nutjobs and SJWs are vandalizing and rioting in the streets of our capital at this moment and you’re concerned about right-wing crazies. Focus, Pat, focus….

The liberal PPP pollsters put two questions on their poll clearly designed to elicit emotional, incorrect answers from Trump supporters and emotional, correct answers from Hillary supporters:

    – Do you think the unemployment rate has increased or decreased since Barack Obama became President?

    – Do you think the stock market has gone up or down since Barack Obama became President?

As someone who understands polling science, don’t you find it odd the following questions (or similar) weren’t asked as well?

    – Do you think the number of food stamp recipients has increased or decreased since Barack Obama became President?

    – Do you think the national debt has stayed the same, increased slightly or effectively doubled since Barack Obama became President?

    – Do you think the number of Americans not in the labor force has increased or decreased since Barack Obama became President?

    – Do you think the labor participation rate has increased or decreased since Barack Obama became President?

    – Do you think the median household income has increased, decreased or stayed stagnant since Barack Obama became President?

    – Do you think the home ownership rate has increased or decreased since Barack Obama became President?

Of course you don’t, because they would have been designed to elicit an emotional, incorrect answer from Hillary supporters – something PPP is not going to do.

  2. The core downtown of the city I live in has been shut down. Apparently somebody took away the hot cocoa and crayons of these snowflake protesters. They can’t handle their side lost the election. They are ungracious losers. It appears this is the outcome of several generations that were taught everybody’s a winner, even the losers. And by golly, they want their prize.

I predict the democratic party will become irrelevant over the next 2-4 years, as it splinters into special interest groups, that can’t agree on an agenda other than shutting down our functioning society, while they bicker about whose demands have more merit than the other. Many people on the left of all colors and races, will become irritated that the democratic party has morphed into a violent directionless anarchist group they no longer recognize, and will identify more with the side of law and order that Trump represents.

The following is a possible outcome if these protesters continue to destroy the ability of peaceful people and business owners to conduct their daily operations in a safe uninterrupted environment:

A probable cyclical downturn in the economy, later in the summer, that may last 2-4 years, will accelerate this outcome. Trump will respond to the will of the majority, that something be done and that these snowflakes be treated as domestic terrorists. The same will be done to control the gangs. Federal and military statutes will eventually be used to prosecute them, as any liberal in a trial will deliberately cause a hung jury.

These anti-Trump activist and their sheep followers, will reap exactly what they feared, because that was the only option to gain control of these irrational sore losers. These snowflakes and their silent supporters, will create the very state they feared. They’re that lacking in introspection.

I fear the pendulum may swing too far to the right, if these protesters continue destroying civil society.

    • Robert the “Trump Toady” and his daily propaganda piece. Robert thinks he’s on the right side of the “movement”. Ha! There are 260 million people that are voting age. Trump’s approval rating is 32%. That means there are only 83 million who approve of him and 176 million who don’t. So if you think the Democrat party is dead, you are wrong. It will be the Republican party that goes into decline. In fact it is showing us that now. The people will NOT tolerate what they are doing to this country. And if you think calling us “snowflakes” bothers us- it doesn’t. Snowflakes can become an avalanche.

      • Snowflakes ultimately meltdown, similar to an hysterical woman. We’re seeing that now in the democratic party. Ive heard of a boy named Sue in a song, but a girl named tex is a first for me.

        • Gender bashing from a traitor.

Here’s some more for you delicate little flowers on the left to wilt about. I heard Kellyanne Conway on the radio this morning. I’ve never listened to her be interviewed before. She’s tough. I can see why Trump puts her on the Sunday shows. I hope she’s paid well. She’s a super chick. I bet she wouldn’t start a protest march over that. She’d be complimented. Just to rub in my lack of political correctness, stew on this snowflakes.

My new full screen name will now be Robert Hazz Geaunads, unlike my counterparts on the left who think being a feminist capon male is being on the right side of the argument. Testosterone is not a bad thing.

PS – I wish I could get paid for this show.

  3. I think Trump is a Muslim. I saw it on the internet.

Allowing a foreign country to interfere with the election of a sovereign nation is a greater threat to civil society than breaking into Starbucks. Let’s honor the women today as they march worldwide against the Predator-in-Chief and his den of thieves. Resist.

    • So when does the USA go on trial? How many elections has the CIA interfered with? Besides, that there’s no direct evidence that Russia was behind the wikileaks, just hearsay, and a trust me from the CIA and FBI. And there’s no evidence that Russia actually affected the vote count outcome.

The left has morphed into the very Nazi propaganda machine they claim to be so outraged over. Repeat a lie, a half truth or innuendo, enough times and it becomes the truth.

      • Robert, if you and the rest of the Russian toadies would rather stand with the Russians instead of our government, it is time for you to leave this country and move there. You are a traitor.

    • RedRover

RE:”Allowing a foreign country to interfere with the election of a sovereign nation is a greater threat to civil society than breaking into Starbucks.”

Once again, Steverino, you don’t seem to want to examine this issue in a fair-minded way. Why has the mainstream media refused to expose the hypocrisy of those, like you and your fellow Russophobiacs, who complain about this so-called, and never proven, Russian interference in our election by reminding them all of how they celebrated unmistakable interference in a Russian election back in 1996?

      Did the Russians ever retaliate?

  5. Celebrate?

  6. An “Oh wait, I didn’t mean it” moment…

Our country appears to be deliberately being divided into a kind of cast system, like India has and the middle east has with their Shia vs Sunni rifts, where people are going to only do business with, associate with, live amongst, other people who believe as they do politically.

The more I look at the left, the more I realize they are being used as useful idiots to take the USA down, as though our own CIA who fronts for the desires of the multi-nationals, has been told its time to do to the USA what they’ve done to many other nations on our planet. It’s no secret that the CIA is well known for destabelizing govts when they want to install someone else. It’s no secret at all.

    • Robert said: “I realize they are being used as useful idiots”

Like Trump did to you and the other ignorant voters? Friday marks the beginning of the end of democracy. It was a nice experiment that lasted 240 years. If voters are too ignorant to choose good government, democracy will not survive.

      • Keep up the protest and rioting and Trump will be left no choice but to bring about the laws that will cause the very scenario you’re noting.

        • That’s what I would expect From Trump. He took an oath to uphold the Constitution only yesterday. I would expect a traitor like you to suggest making a law against the 1st Amendment. Before he’s impeached I expect he’ll walk all over the Constitution. Why don’t you take him with you when you move to Russia.

  7. Steverino

Good to know you have access to all of the intelligence reports Robert. Please keep us up to date as we go.

  8. From what I’ve seen today, I am more hopeful than I’ve been since the election that democracy may prevail, despite Trump. But for democracy to prevail, Trump has to go.

  9. Steverino

Trump has incurred the wrath of the CIA. That is not an agency you want to fool with especially when you have so many skeletons in the closet. Wouldn’t be surprised if the NY Times gets a complete set of tax returns in the mail just for starters.

  10. Yes, youre right Steverino. That’s also why the NSA is in place. Not to catch terrorist but to release data on all of us should we become a threat. We can all be smeared. Have our integrity challenged. Our credibility placed in a questionable light. And to think Obama increased this type of surveillance in his 8 years.

  11. Steverino

Our ability to keep things secret ended with the ENIAC some 70 years before Obama’s crystal ball.

  12. RedRover

Once again, Pat, you have provided us with an analysis of the Obama regime that completely evades any and all mention of his many despicable foreign policy crimes against humanity, described in brief as follows(and as posted and ignored before by you and the other kids in the Obama-as-Messiah Peanut Gallery):

Obama has murdered thousands over the course of the last 8 years:

    — directly through his drone-strikes in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia (and who knows where else?);

    — indirectly through the ongoing chaos that began after his violent transformation of prosperous, if autocratic, Libya into a failed state that has become a battleground between at least 3 warring parties and a staging area for millions of refugees boarding boats for Europe, thousands of whom have died during the crossing; and

    — by proxy by continuing to sell cluster bombs and other munitions to the religious fanatics in Saudi Arabia despite knowing that they are being used to kill civilians in Yemen.

Of course, you are not the only so-called journalist participating in this cover-up, nor is it the first time in journalistic history that such a perversion of truth has taken place. Back in 1994, legendary journalist George Seldes, then age 103, repeated what he had written 52 years earlier about what is going on here in one of his last columns entitled: “Is the Entire Press Corrupt?”
    http://fair.org/extra/is-the-entire-press-corrupt/

Are you really satisfied, Pat, to have become after your decades in journalism a devout proponent of this kind of post-truth political activity?

  13. Robert Hazz Geaunads

The demonstrators from last Friday’s protest in Portland OR, are demanding that the Chief of Police be fired. If he isn’t they’re threatening to shut down the city.

That is mob action. If they attempt in any way to shut down the city, they should be arrested for mob action and prosecuted under federal terrorism guidelines.

This is the kind of activity I said would eventually occur that will push many democrats and independents, of all persuasions, over to the Trump law and order side of the coin.

The left is out of control. You’re crazy with anger that you lost.

  14. Steverino

Saturday’s kitty hat demonstrators appeared more civil and in control.

    • Robert Hazz Geaunads

The ones threatening to shut down the city were from Friday night. The Woman’s March on Saturday was very civil.

  15. Robert Hazz Geaunads

As long as the left continues with their violent, vicious response to losing the election, the right and Trump will gain more and more support.

The leadership of the left needs to call out those espousing violence and destroying city center business environments. The problem with the left leadership is they refuse to call out those employing violence and uncivil marches, and blame it all on the police, who the majority of people support.

We’re are watching the democratic party implode. It will become a fringe group of violent anarchist. The days of peaceful marches like MLK implored are gone. Today’s activists are not very bright. The role of professional victim trumps smart decisive political acumen. Its all violence all the time like children throwing a temper tantrum, that is until Trump steps in with the National Guard and the militarized police force these lefties helped justify.

By the way, much appreciation to those law enforcement agents in Chicago who rounded a large number of gang members over the weekend. It will be happening across the nation as Trump shows he supports the police and civility, not hooligans, many of which don’t even vote. Sessions will be on the side of the police.

  16. Robert: Cool it with the sexist remarks, tough guy. I won’t warn you again.

  17. Robert: The more hackneyed your right-wing drivel becomes, the worse your grammar and spelling get. I’ve deleted a few of your recent sexist remarks, and I’m working up to the laborious chore of eliminating your crap altother.

  18. Robert Hazz Geaunads

Here’s some of the groups behind this staged uprising against Trump. As far as Im concerned, this is sedition in its purest form. Why is this allowed? There goal is to make America ungovernable.
