Trump can’t face certain indisputable facts

To me, the most fascinating aspect of President Trump’s news conference today was his pathological denial that the margin of his victory in the November election was relatively slim.

Trump has stubbornly pretended over the past three months that his win over Hillary Clinton was nothing less than a solid thumping. But, of course, it wasn’t.

His first reaction to news that Clinton received 2.8 million more popular votes than he did was to claim that the numbers were skewed by widespread fraud. Of course, there isn’t a shred of evidence to support that charge, and Trump’s initial call for an investigation of the matter seems to have been forgotten, which is convenient for him. In the wake of nearly universal skepticism, even among Republican election officials,  regarding the claim of vote fraud, the president apparently wants to avoid the embarrassment of having his allegation of wrongdoing debunked by a thorough probe.

Today, however, Trump expressed special pride in his victory in the Electoral College. He said it it was the widest margin since Ronald Reagan was elected.

Sorry, Mr. President,  but that’s not even close to true.

In six of the seven presidential elections from 1988 (when Reagan left office) through 2012, each of the winning candidates received more electoral votes — in some cases, many more — than Trump received this past November.

Trump’s bogus claim in this regard apparently wasn’t scripted. If it had been, his aides could have warned him away from the subject. It takes only a minute or so to find the truth of the matter. But Trump believes what he wants to believe, especially when it comes to his pride.

If he had lost the election, Trump likely would have howled to the high heavens that the whole exercise was fixed. Indeed, he warned for months beforehand that massive fraud was all but inevitable. The man is psychologically incapable of accepting that he could lose in a fair fight.

Trump’s ego is one of the most fragile in all the world, which is sure to cause him lots more trouble as his presidency continues.

I think Trump blew a fuse last night, took a pill and decided to vent his anger using an impromptu press conference to blame the “so called” leakers and fake media. It would have been better if he just spoke to the American Psychiatric Association.

I think many people in the center and right, cheered Trump on today. His disdain for the fake news outlets and their attempts to destroy him was in raw form.

HuffPo labeled todays media event a 77 Minute Meltdown. I thought he handled himself quite well. That old, if you repeat a lie enough times ploy, is being played by the HuffPo day in and day out as well as the MSM outlets. The HuffPo is now worse than anything Fox News ever attempted to be. There’s no sense of balance coming from the HuffPo, its pure leftwing propaganda to promote unrest.

I’ve never seen such a coordinated MSM goal to destroy an American president in my life. Even the DailyMailUK is on board now. They were relatively tame towards Trump, but changed in the past 2 weeks. It’s as though the Pro EU camp now see he is an enabler to the Brexit, Frexit, Grexit, Itexit movements. As though being proud of your national heritage and culture is a bad thing in their eyes.

The globalist will stop at nothing. Im sure Trump knows it. I hope he has friends in high places.

    • The media isn’t destroying trump. He is destroying himself, bigly.
I think toadyism is a disease, Robert. Seek help!

Lets hear some alternative views on yesterday’s media event with Trump. Sic’em ….. Trump knows his greatest power will be in the people he energizes. He knows there’s many forces both in the media, the intelligence agencies and in both parties that want to destroy him and the change in WA DC he represents. He’s pro America and pro western culture. That very perspective is also enabling many Europeans to stand with him against the globalist.http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-02-16/fiery-surreal-press-conference-trump-launches-war-out-control-press-main-highlights

The leaks are real, but the news is fake???

  5. Steverino

Take your pick of delusional senile dementia or malignant narcissistic personality disorder. Both were on display at the presser.

Let’s see, what fake news is being passed around today, to further agitate the left and get them to bring to the USA, a full on insurrection. hhhhmmmmm????

Trump Administration May Mobilize National Guard Troops To Round Up Unauthorized Immigrants

When the National Guard is really mobilized for activity in the USA, it will be to round up and arrest rioters. Like the ones we had last night, marching on behalf of a criminal who had just robbed a homeless man while pointing a gun at him. It would be found out later, that gun was a fake, but none the less, it looked real and the policeman he pointed it at, shot him dead.

The family and friends then posted on social media the criminal had been shot in the back 13 times, which prompted the coroner to publicly deny those claims and said he was not shot in the back.

I hope Trump eventually brings to court, those editors deliberately incentivizing riots and civil unrest. Free speech has its limits, when its comparable to yelling fire in a crowded theater.

    • Robert does the Twist very well. Do you know Chubby Checker, Robert?

        Tex, as the song says,

        “Dirty Laundry”

I make my living off the evening news
        Just give me something
        Something I can use
People love it when you lose
        They love dirty laundry

Well, I coulda been an actor
        But I wound up here
I just have to look good
I don’t have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
        Give us dirty laundry

        Kick ’em when they’re up
        Kick ’em when they’re down
        Kick ’em when they’re up
        Kick ’em when they’re down

        Kick ’em when they’re up
        Kick ’em when they’re down
        Kick ’em when they’re up
        Kick ’em all around

        We got the bubble headed
        Bleached blonde
        Comes on at five
She can tell you ’bout the plane crash
With a gleam in her eye
        It’s interesting when people die
        Give us dirty laundry

        Can we film the operation
        Is the head dead yet
You know the boys in the newsroom
        Got a running bet
Get the widow on the set
        We need dirty laundry

        [Instrumental Interlude]

You don’t really need to find out
        What’s going on
You don’t really want to know
        Just how far it’s gone
        Just leave well enough alone
        Eat your dirty laundry

        Kick ’em when they’re up
        Kick ’em when they’re down
        Kick ’em when they’re up
        Kick ’em when they’re down

        Kick ’em when they’re up
        Kick ’em when they’re down
        Kick ’em when they’re stiff
        Kick ’em all around

        (Kick ’em when they’re up)
        (Kick ’em when they’re down)
        (Kick ’em when they’re up)
        (Kick ’em when they’re down)

        (Kick ’em when they’re up)
        (Kick ’em when they’re down)
        (Kick ’em when they’re stiff)
        (Kick ’em all around)

        Dirty little secrets
        Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers
        In everybody’s pie
We love to cut you down to size
        We love dirty laundry

        We can do the Innuendo
        We can dance and sing
        When it’s said and done
We haven’t told you a thing
We all know that Crap is King
        Give us dirty laundry”
