TV critic Hal Boedeker, an admitted admirer of Tim Russert, SAYS the coverage of his death has been a bit much and, in some cases, has falsely “elevated him to preeminent journalist of his time.”

Not one of Tim Russert’s biggest fans, I nonetheless find myself shocked and deeply saddened at the news that he died unexpectedly this afternoon at the age of only 58.

During last night’s Republican presidential debate in Florida, Tim Russert asked Mitt Romney a question about Social Security.
Just before Romney replied that he wouldn’t raise taxes, someone is heard to whisper the term “raise taxes.”
