Republican senator criticizes Obama for incessantly talking about the middle class

As I’ve said here on previous occasions, U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl (above), the Arizona Republican, has never been known as the sharpest knife in the drawer. For example, when something Kyl said on the Senate floor a few years ago was shown to be blatantly inaccurate, his spokesman said the senator’s remark “was not intended to be a factual statement.” Kyl has also blamed Barack Obama for the defeat of then-President George W. Bush’s immigration-reform legislation in 2007. In truth, Obama voted in favor of the measure while Kyl joined a Republican filibuster that killed it. And now Kyl has come up with another RIDICULOUS OBSERVATION: President Obama’s plan to allow the Bush tax cuts for incomes above $250,000 to expire at the end of the year has revived the Republican talking point that he is waging “class warfare” against the wealthy, a point Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl (R) drove home in an entirely new fashion today. Speaking on the Senate floor, Kyl claimed that the president’s usage of the phrase “middle class” is “misguided and wrong and even dangerous.” Calling for an end to rhetoric about classes, Kyl blasted Obama for “incessantly” talking about class, “particularly the middle...

Arizona senator floats notion of impeaching Obama over immigration policies

U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl (above), the Arizona Republican, has never been known as the sharpest knife in the drawer. When something Kyl said on the Senate floor a few years was shown to blatantly inaccurate, his spokesman said the senator’s remark “was not intended to be a factual statement.” Kyl has also blamed Barack Obama for the defeat of then-President George W. Bush’s immigration-reform legislation in 2007. In truth, Obama voted in favor of the measure while Kyl joined a Republican filibuster that killed it. And now Kyl, apparently embittered by yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling against his state’s immigration law, is TALKING about the possibility of impeaching Obama over his immigration policies: Meanwhile, a Republican congressional candidate in Minnesota is OUTRIGHT PROMISING to push for Obama’s impeachment. Yes, the once proud Grand Old Party of American politics has become a nest of...

One GOP senator fails to learn from another GOP senator’s embarrassing mistake

As the photo above would suggest, U.S. Senators Orrin Hatch and Jon Kyl are buddies of sorts. They’re both conservative Republicans, and it can’t be said of either of them that this is their first time at the rodeo, politically speaking. They’ve been around. Which makes it especially amazing that Hatch would publicly utter the same dumb misstatement that Kyl famously uttered last year. But that’s exactly what happened just last week, as Steve Benen explains...

Here’s mine: Illegal Muslim immigrant Barack Obama shoves boyish Eagle Scout Eric Cantor toward door, which is held open by Obama accomplice Nancy Pelosi. Mitch McConnell  looks on with grimace, while Jon Kyl, unable to watch such brutality, stares down at floor. Unidentified elderly man on right, said to be a visitor from Nevada, seems confused by violent scene as he fumbles for his cell...
