Mark your calendars: Fall ArtScene 2010 will be here before you know it!
On Friday, October 1 & 2, ArtScene will be free to the public, and held in galleries all over the Rockford region. The works of hundreds of skilled artists will be exhibited and sold in a wide variety of forms, genres, media, and styles.
Aardvark Studio, at 1109 Railroad Ave in Rockford , will awe you with the distinctive visual elements of Andrew Langoussis, Vincent S. Chiaramonte and Kathleen Rietz. Discover an exhibition of rich pigments, figure study, sculpture, drawing and more.
For a taste of edginess- check out some street art, wicked prints, epigrams, a splash of humor, and so much more- visit Jarrod Hennis and Robot House, James Ford, Jason Nonnenmann, Ken Klopack, Brandon Hanson and David Valente. Also featuring Corey Hagberg. Pirate Ninja Print Shop (400 E State St).
In his mixed-media work, inspired by life in Rockford, Matthew Johansson discusses the nature of reality and reflects upon the walls we construct around ourselves and their invalidity, “Suburban Still Life” can be seen at Kortman Gallery (107 N Main St).
25+ artists will be featured at Bennie’s Cleaners (126 N 1st St), and 20+ exhibiting artists will be at Prairie Street Brewhouse (200 Prairie St).
