“We’ll have some fun….it’s a perfect day to break away.”

With the weather finally breaking, I can feel the excitement in the air!

There’s nothing better than going downtown Rockford on a warm summer evening, eating at an outdoor café and walking around enjoying all of the music and art that surrounds the Rock River.  As I got out my calendar and started planning my next few months, I found plenty to do even before summer officially arrives.

Truly…..It’s Unforgettable!

The 8th Annual Affair for Alzheimer’s takes place tomorrow,  Saturday, April 9, 2011 and it is an event you will never forget. Mark your calendars, write it on your hand and post it to your refrigerator, this is an amazing evening!

This is  my 5th year as a participating artist and I have to admit, I am honored to be part of this incredible event each year. Let me fill you in with a little background information to entice you.

Auditions for Songs of Love and Flowers

Poise in Silhouette, R. Young

Without Shoes Modern Dance Company is holding auditions for its spring concert, which will be open to all adult dancers, children, and high school students with dance experience.  Featuring songs by The Beatles and live music, the performance will take place Friday, March 25, 7:30 pm at Rockford College’s Maddox Theater, 5050 E. Local designers of energy efficient buildings collaborate

The Northern Illinois chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA NI) has been gathering on topics ranging from movies related to architecture to lectures on historic buildings. Last month, AIA NI co-sponsored a lecture event with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

The event’s topic, ‘wholeness-based design,’ took an inside look at the sustainable architecture of Aldo Leopold Legacy Center, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, designed by Kubala Washatko Architects out of Cedarburg.
