AOL has an intriguing list: 25 Things We Think Should Make a Comeback, including full-size spare tires, vent windows, vinyl records.
What do you think should make a Rockford-area comeback? Doug Logan and The Rolling Stones at the MetroCentre? A permanent home for Charlotte’s Web? The Wagon Wheel?

Geo, good post. I am putting my vote in for the Quark at the Clock Tower. That place rocked, a great hookup place. I have a friend who met a lady there and now they have a kid together. Who woulda thunk it?

I partiesd at the Quark! Very 90s.
How about Cubby O’Briens?
How about Ginger Lynn?

We need a return to the golden years of Rockford radio….Fred Speer, Karen Woods, Ken DeCoster on WROK, Chris Bowman….those were the great years.

A Christmas Carol performed live on stage by professional actors - a generation grew up with this as part of their holiday tradition and now it has gone missing.

To all: Boy have I gotten an earful of comments from readers who were appalled that I wrote in my June 5 “comebacks” column in the Register Star that adult film star Ginger Lynn formerly of Rockford (see Karl Vogel post above) should make a comeback.
One caller told me: “We don’t miss her or her STDs. This is a bad, bad thing. She’s not a good role model.”
Indeed. In hindsight, I should have been more careful and thoughtful in making my selections, and I apologize.
My thinking then was that she was a star who brought attention to her hometown, Rockford.

Got a letter from a reader about my comebacks column saying there is a group called Focus On Our Liberman, which is advocating the return of Symbol to downtown Rockford.
Know anything about ‘em?
