Did you see George Carlin in Rockford?

Comedian George Carlin, who died Sunday,
appeared in Rockford eight times, according to my count from Register Star archives: seven at the Coronado and once at the MetroCentre.
Did you see him in Rockford? Tell here what you thought of him and his humor, even if you didn’t see him here.

Probably an interesting person but no great loss as a comedian.

I sorry Ben that you didn’t find Mr. Carlin a great comedian. For me, his humor and delivery was fantastic. I saw him twice in Rockford and went home with my sides aching from laughter. I also enjoyed his soicial commentary as well as his firing shots at the pompous. I will greatly miss his work.

He was no Jerry Seinfeld. I saw him in Rockford in the 90s.

We saw him in the ’90s at the Coronado. He was pretty funny, but when he went off on a tangent about abortion and the catholic church he lost me. Otherwise he was very observant of goofy everyday life, and poked fun at it.
