Wing Ding music concert at Speedway could be nixed

As I write this, Jim Stone, DJ and program director, at WXRX (104.9-FM) is telling listeners that Wing Ding, an all-day hard rock music festival the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, may not take place at the Rockford Speedway in Loves Park next year.
He’s saying that objectors complain about the “mayhem and madness” at the festival attended the past few years by more than 20,000 people each year. Nine bands played, including P.O.D., Theory of a Deadman, Black Stone Cherry, Drowning Pool and The Last Vegas.
Stone is asking supporters to attend Monday’s Loves Park City Council meeting. Here’s a bit of what he says at wxrx.com
“We went to the Loves Park City Council meeting on Monday, 12/8, to discuss the future of Wing Ding at the Rockford Speedway. The committee that approves these things made a motion to deny us from having the concert. The entire City Council will meet on Monday, 12/15, to vote. The Council has only heard from the people who have complained. As in so many instances, “government is run by those who show up.”
We need YOU to show up and have YOUR VOICES heard. We need YOU to become part of the process.“

Yes, it would be a darn shame if White Trash Fest is cancelled.
