Check the statistics on the injuries and deaths attributed to participation in team sports. Coaches are fired becuase their teams lose, not becuase their players are exploited for the amusement of adults and the profits it brings to the schools. There is NO safe way children whose bodies are still devleoping can particpate in team sports. Worse yet, the experience does nothing to teach lifetime fitness skills. Not often 22 40-year-olds can get together to play football. But, how many people do you know that are crippled with bad knees, etc., that they got plahing team sports in high school.
