If pharmacists won’t dispense morning-after pill, shouldn’t they point to someone who will

The Associated Press reports today that Illinois officials can’t force pharmacists to dispense the so-called “morning-after” pill.
But if they don’t, don’t you think the pharmacists who refuse to do so should point the person requesting the pill to another pharmacist or pharmacy who will dispense the pill?
The AP story says: “Two Illinois pharmacists won the temporary restraining order in Sangamon County Circuit Court on Friday.
They claim a 2005 order from former Gov. Rod Blagojevich that they must dispense such pills violates state law prohibiting enforcement of health care decisions over religious objections.
The pill reduces the chance of pregnancy if taken within 72 hours of sex. The pharmacists believe it’s tantamount to abortion.
The Supreme Court ruled in December that a circuit court had to hear arguments in the case. A hearing could be held in June.”

If a pharmacist does not feel confortable dispencing the pill and sends the cuastomer somewhere else is the same as dispencing the pill, is like not wantting to kill somebody but giving the gun to someone else to do it.

That’s one way to look at it.

I wouldn’t expect a Hindu to be able to work at McDonalds and refuse to sell his customers hamburgers. It’s part of the job.
How about if they refused to open the condom case for me? Or fill my girlfriend’s script for her birth control? And if we’re going to extremes, what if they pharmacist claimed Alzheimers was a curse from God and refused to fill the corresponding prescription?
If a pharmacist wants to push his religious views on his customers, he should join the clergy.
Their job is counting and selling pills, not prescribing religion.
