A new robotics team has started with Hononegah High School and Beloit Memorial called the Stateline Robotics Team 4655. They will be competing in Milwaukee March 21-23 and possibly Chicago April 4-6th depending on funding.
FIRST Robotics Team 4655 is already busy brainstorming, prototyping, and building for this year’s FIRST Robotics Competition: Ultimate Ascent! Since the end of finals week at Hononegah High School and Beloit Memorial, they’ve been meeting every day for the majority of the day, both on weekdays and weekends.
Thus far, Stateline Robotics has made significant progress through diligent work in their Mechanical, Electrical, Marketing, and Programming groups! The Marketing group is tirelessly approaching local businesses for funding and writing grants while the Mechanical group has successfully built the robot’s drivetrain and is currently prototyping the climbing and shooting mechanisms. The Electrical group has been organizing our electronics board according to our dimension constraints and our Programming group is training students to use various computer softwares, write in HTML format, design graphics and logos, and program their robot.
This new entry to local robotics teams adds to the Rockford Robotics Team 2039, Flaming Monkeys Team 3352 and Winnovation Team 1625. The region is gaining recognition in this field; who knows, maybe someday, we’ll host a regional competition!.
