SwedishAmerican adds charging stations for electric cars

SwedishAmerican Foundation has  installed four stations to recharge electric vehicles.

The stations are on the south side of Camelot Tower, 1415 E. State St. They are available at no charge to guests at SwedishAmerican Hospital.

The stations cost $28,000 to install. Two more stations may be added if demand merits it.

“This was the right thing to do,” says SwedishAmerican Foundation CEO John Mecklenburg. “The government has done their part by offering consumers tax incentives to purchase electric vehicles. As one of northern Illinois’s largest organizations,we are making the ownership and operation of electric vehicles more convenient by offering the charging stations to our guests and employees.”
