Bricks & Clicks
The Rockford Register Star is more than a newspaper: the ink on print or the “bricks” in the News Tower. We’re a multimedia news and information company: the “clicks” on our Web site and the TV clips on WREX-13. This blog explains our fast-changing media environment and interacts with our readers to show how and why we do what we do.

RRS file photo | After the tornado had ravaged Belvidere High School, this group of students staggered from the building in a driving rain. Behind them the force of the storm had all but ripped the name of the school from the building. As she left the school, one girl asked, “Where was God?”

monday’s tornado in boone county reminds folks of the tornado from april 21, 1967.

we’ve reposted our special multimedia report for you to revisit the memories. you can find maps, photos, stories and the “day after” newspaper.

or you can read more local tornado history here.

if you want to share your thoughts about that tornado from four decades ago, email onlinenews@rrstar.com.
