In the news business, you deal with the public a lot. Most of the exchange is pleasant, but every once in awhile you come across a “Brenda.”
Using public access TV, Brenda Lowe asked that a GateHouse Media colleague in Needham, Mass., be fired. In an e-mail today to those who work in new media (online, mostly), Editor Greg Reibman said that Lowe had called for his head in a public access TV commentary. He also shared this:
I posted it on our blog and as you can see it has generated an interesting conversation about blogs and our terms of use policy.
A common theme was expressed in e-mail discussion about this today. Most newsrooms have Brendas. I’ve only been here seven years. To my knowlege, we’ve not had a Brenda air a TV spot — at least not during my tenure.
