Find out what people are ‘talking’ about; share your thoughts

We brought back to rrstar.com our story commenting feature a few weeks. It’s taking a while for it, well, to take off.
But there’s been a handful of issues in the last week that piqued your interest. Take a look at what others are saying:
At vigil Graves family promises to push for answers (13)
Mix of drugs alcohol may have killed Rockford man (12)
Beaman experiences freedom: Chewing gum, cell phones, sunrises (9)
Four robbed at gunpoint in Rockford home invasion (10)
Challenges ahead for concealed carry (11)
Machesney man on motorcycle struck by gunfire (15)
Rockford police: Man dies after domestic disturbance arrest (64)
More trust needed in our Constitution (4)

For me, there’s one thing missing in the new “Comments” feature. With StoryChat, there was a count of the number of comments on a story on the front page (or the section front page). I’m not likely to click on a story a second time to see if there are more comments, but I will come to the home page again during the day. If I see on the front page there are more comments, I’ll click on the story again to see what people are saying.
I’m not sure how hard that would be to implement on the new Web site, but I think it’s worth looking into.

Mike,
You’re right. We miss that, too. We’re told that feature will be released soon. No date, unfortunately, but I do know it’s in the plans to add a comment count to the home page and to section fronts.
In the meantime, we’ll try to keep you posted with updates listing the most-commented stories. Stay tuned.
Anna
