for your healthy dose of news
September 16th, 2008 at 09:21am Jennie Pollock
in june, we launched healthyrockford.com — a one-stop shop for local health, healthy living and health care news. the site is rich with doctor listings, Harvard Medical School A-Z disease/condition information, local and national news and advice from local experts.
you’ve seen a sampling of content in sunday’s life&style section, with a healthyrockford.com page inside. you’ve also seen stories reappear in the local and business sections, whether we’re writing about quadruplets born at rockford memorial or the college of medicine’s effort to retain local talent.
this week, you’ll start seeing more in the newspaper. the go section will carry useful bits of information, like calendar items and tips. and the thursday people section will focus on, naturally, people.
fyi, healthyrockford.com’s editor is mike dedoncker; the reporter is melissa westphal. they have started appearing each monday at 5 p.m. on wrex-13’s newscast to promote healthyrockford.com content as well.

Does blogging give you the right to not be grammatically correct? I find it to be unprofessional and amateurish when I see you not capitalizing when appropriate.
Please raise your standards. And you are considered an editor?

Tim,
Thank you for saying something! I totally agree. The fact that Jennie writes in all lower case is downright embarrassing for the newspaper’s website. Not only is this unprofessional for any “journalist”, it’s simply hard to read.
I can honestly say I’ve never finished reading any of her posts because of how she presents them. I’ve seen her posts, but I can’t bring myself to actually read the words. It’s almost insulting to readers.
Jennie, I don’t know if you consider writing in all lower case “your thing” or “cute”, but knock it off and have some respect for what you are TRYING to do. Seriously.
I’m not trying to be a jerk. Consider it constructive criticism.

I’m not trying to be cute. That’s not my thing.
And otherwise, I strive for perfect grammar.
So OK, I’ll turn over a new leaf.
