It’s almost inauguration time

Register Star tech folks and journalists have been working on an inauguration Web site that will be live on our site and hundreds of other GateHouse sites. We expect to launch the site next week.

The site will be filled with stories, opinions and photos from GateHouse journalists. Register Star photojournalist Scott Morgan will join three other GateHouse staffers in Washington, D.C., to cover Barack Obama’s inauguration.

Stay tuned. We’ll share the site next week.

Voting wrapped up this week for the Rockford Woman of the Year Award.

Here’s a mini update: We received 4,722 votes. We’ll announce the winner at an invitation-only reception next month and in the March/April issue of Rockford Woman magazine. I’ve had a few people ask me already about who won, so my lips are sealed.

In the meantime, I’m trying to assign some stories about how women can get more/better sleep. If you have advice or questions, let me know!
