Bricks & Clicks
The Rockford Register Star is more than a newspaper: the ink on print or the “bricks” in the News Tower. We’re a multimedia news and information company: the “clicks” on our Web site and the TV clips on WREX-13. This blog explains our fast-changing media environment and interacts with our readers to show how and why we do what we do.

All inauguration, all the time … and we have someone there

Today and Tuesday, all eyes are on our nation’s capital for the historic presidential inauguration of Barack Obama.

We are providing full inauguration coverage at this site, as we pointed out last week.

If you watched the Lincoln Memorial concert on TV yesterday, you saw the start of festivities. So did our own Scott Morgan; we sent the photographer to Washington to cover the event because Obama is from our state, Illinois. Check out his amazing work so far.

Morgan is just one of four GateHouse journalists sent to cover the event for the state and the nation (and really, there are others there, too, covering their own local stories). Of highest interest to you: Bernie Schoenburg of Springfield will be writing about the Illinois galas; he also was credentialed to attend the inauguration itself.
