Susan-

You don't have to be making $150K to be experiencing burnout...people at all pay ranges can be affected.

Best advice I can give those who are seeking employement would be to visit a staffing agency- the recruiters can match your skill levels and desired pay with open positions!

Ashley - Changing jobs can help. All the stats say unemployment is up but when I look at all the 100K and 200K jobs posted online I wonder what gives?

So I'm not sure I understand why everyone is making $150K....very strange.

I agree. I've worked with many companies on this type of program and the idea of a "quick fix" is how most approach it at first. Starting across a wide breadth of your population with an offering that can work for each segment is a great way to start.

A company that has an incredible program is GlobalFit. They have a unique group of benefits that can get everyone up, active and fit.

Gloria brings up a good point- employers need to remember that their behavior has a direct effect on their employee's attitude. Negative attitudes can cause a tension-filled workplace.

Employees: One more point to consider: In these times of economic uncertainty, the tension that is felt in the workplace might be the result of the larger business strategy.

It is important for all employees in a workplace to work together towards a common goal- the greater good.

Thanks for the comment, Gloria!

If employers are quick to "jump ship" and get rid of shifts, jobs, employees, why shouldn't they also see that they are causing some of this "jump ship" attitude among their employees? GG

I actually ended up marrying the girl I started an "office romance" with. When we did work together, we kept it a secret for a little while. Once she left the company on her own terms for another opportunity the disclosed information was made open to the public with nothing but support from our peers. Now we are happily married leading our own separate career paths.
