My husband and I were huge fans of Leonardi's and were very disappointed when it closed, but were happy to hear it was re-opening on PerryVille. My family attended the Sunday brunch for Mothers Day and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, there was plenty to choose from and the dessert bar was incredible. The restaurant is beautiful inside and the service was very good. All of the staff was extremely friendly -- people checked on us and said goodbye to us who weren't even our waitress. Although it was a busy day for the occasion, we did not feel rushed at all, even though we stayed 2 hours!

I was just at Ember this past Sunday. I came on the recomendation of friends. The Sunday Brunch was really good. There were many things to choose from. I really liked the biscuits and gravy, but the sticky buns were melt in your mouth delicious. Our server was very friendly and outgoing. I really liked the feel of Ember and plan on bringing a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. I would suggest to anyone to try Ember , we got good food at a good value. On ascale of 1 to 10 I give Ember a 9!

We had a party of 9 people Sat night at 6pm, reservations, when we arrived, we were told our table was ready, but we waited in the bar for the rest of the party to show up. We were told that was fine, and to let them know when we were ready. When we were ready we were told we had to wait. they didn't have enough menus. About 30-40 minutes later I went back up to the host stand and still no menus, I asked if we could just go to our table, we had studied a menu in the bar, and all of us were on round 2 of drinks with no food. We ordered, and waited 50 minutes for our food. The most one of our steaks was cooked was med-rare. When our food arrived, the steaks were cold and the sauce horrible. The butter didn't even melt on the potatoes! We got 2 new filets, cooked too fast, burnt on the outside raw inside, and the strip was well done, which was to be med rare! The nachos were cold, and mushy, and the chicken parm was horrible, it tasted like jar sauce with BBQ sauce mixed in, the chicken was under the pasta, and no malted cheese to be found. The manager bought us a round of drinks at first, but acted like all she wanted was the bad dream to go away. She came back after we were done, and told us she would take the 3 steaks off. When we got our checks I was charged my drink and my filet, I asked, and she question if I even ordered a filet, but then took them off. The server was very nice and felt sorry, but I don't think any of us will be back.

Ember has great atmosphere. Friday fish fry was excellent!

However we returned for Sunday brunch and all I can say is DON'T! The food was of the quality of a free hotel breakfast. The cooks have NO idea how to make breakfast items. The eggs are not worth eating, poor selection. They should discontinue the brunch, it is BAD!

Our family of nine went to Embers late Sunday AM for brunch and to celebrate two of our family members' birthdays. By the time we lined up for the brunch buffett at 11:45 AM - there was hardly any food left. What was left tasted good, but we left the place still hungry. They also ran out of Bloody Mary's. The brunch is only $10.00, but you get what you pay for I guess. They were also understaffed and unprepared for the crowd after being written up in the Register Star's GO section. Embers was about all that remained of that brunch experience - and the full bill of course - very disappointinig.

My husband I had dinner at Embers on Monday night. It was great. The service wonderful. I agree with Madelynne this will be a new destination for us. Certainly has more atmosphere and charm than any of the chains!

My husband and I ate dinner recently at Embers and had a wonderful time. We were impressed with the excellent service, delicious cuisine, and the elegant, relaxed atmosphere. Embers is a new favorite destination for us.

I have visited twice and had wonderful experiences both times. When I was there with the girls for a night out our experience and food were wonderful. When I went to the lounge, there was a singer and the atmosphere was very comfortable and nice with many happy people surrounding us. It has been a delightful experience to visit the Embers.

We just returned from a terrible dining experience at Ember Rest. and Bar! Our drink orders( 2 beers, one wine and a diet coke) took 20 min. Our salads came before our drinks. Then our entree orders took 45 minutes! Finally when they did come(after asking two times) my husband's steak was overcooked. He ordered it med. rare and it was done completely. Waitress took it and said she would be back very soon with another steak cooked the way he ordered it. She said, "It will be worth the wait!' The rest of us finished our meals and my husband still didn't have his steak! We asked to talk to the manager and she apologized and gave us a 20.00 gift cert. but the steak was 23.00! We told her the whole story but she didn't make it right with us. My husband left with no meal and very upset and disappointed. We thought we should all have been given a free meal for the poor service and inconvenience! I would think that a new restaurant would be very sensitive to situations like this and do everthing they could to make it right with their customers. The manager did not handle it well! Your restaurant has a reputatuion to uphold, especially being so new. At this point, we would never reuturn and would not recomment Embers to anyone. We had heard good comments so that's why we decided to try it. My white fish was good but we won't return at this point. This is certainly not a good way to run a new business. We have eaten in a lot of places in Rockford and have never experienced anything as bad as tonight!
