Saffron Bistro, 6164 E. Riverside Blvd., is closing its doors on Wednesday.
The French-Moroccan-style restaurant opened about two and a half years ago. Executive chef and manager Doug Finch said the tough economy played a part in the decision to close.
“We tossed around the idea for a couple of months and made a lot of adjustments during that time,” Finch said. “We discontinued lunches, closed Mondays, cut back our hours and staff. We’re just not making it.”
The restaurant will have a limited menu today and Wednesday, Finch said, but diners are welcome to stop by to say goodbye. Saffron Bistro opens at 3 p.m. and typically closes by 11 p.m., though Finch expects people will stick around a little later on Wednesday night.
