Red Mango, a unique frozen yogurt shop, opens its doors today at the Spring Creek Crossing plaza near Spring Creek and Perryville roads.
The business is officially located at 6876 Spring Creek Road, Suite 118, near Artale Wine Co. and Pearl. Red Mango is a national chain, but Betsy and Paul Hornick own the local franchise.
Red Mango’s menu features all-natural nonfat frozen yogurt, smoothies, fruit parfaits and probiotic iced teas. I wrote a little bit about Red Mango back in February.
Betsy Hornick is a registered dietitian, and she said she and Paul felt comfortable with Red Mango’s nutrition and health marketing. And they thought Rockford needed more health-focused ways to enjoy food.
According to Red Mango Rockford’s Facebook page, the business is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. The hours might be adjusted after Red Mango is open for a bit.

Red Mango is our new favorite place. My daughter and I visited on Saturday afternoon, and were very impressed with the selections available, the point that it is \"healthy\", which made us enjoy even more, as we didn\’t feel guilty for indulging ! The self-serve and sampling was great and pricing very reasonable as well as it tasted great. We will definitely be making this a routine place for treats ! Thank You !!
This is our new favorite place to eat at least one meal a day. We have both lost 20 lbs recently and don’t want to gain it all back.
