Mixed emotions

Great to see the Cubs rally against Roy Oswalt to win 9-7 Saturday. Derrek Lee and Kosuke Fukudome deliver clutch hits in the seventh. Carlos Marmol bails out Bob Howry in the eighth. Kerry Wood is 2-for-2 in save situations.

But I was a little disappointed in Lou Piniella’s lineup decision. After complaining about another shoddy defensive effort from the team, he sits his second-best defensive outfielder (Felix Pie) to get Reed Johnson a start. Meanwhile, Alfonso Soriano, who’s making me wonder whether he’d be better butchering second base instead of left field, gets to continue his tribute to Dick Stuart, aka Dr. Strangeglove.

And the Phons-o-Meter is now at .045 (1-for-22).
