Scott Eyre ties Cubs record

Is anyone else surprised that Cubs’ pitcher Scott Eyre tied a club record last night when he ran his consecutive scoreless appearance streak to 31 games?
Or that Eyre is 2-0 with an ERA of 0.00?
I’m always nervous when he enters a game. He gets behind hitters too often for my taste.
Is this a case where statistics are deceiving, or am I just too picky?
