Rich Hill has fallen faster than the stock market. Trying to work things out at the Cubs spring-training facility hasn’t worked yet.
After giving up three-run homers in consecutive games, is Carlos Marmol close to joining the trek west?
I’m going to paraphrase what the Score’s Dan Bernstein and Jason Goff said Thursday: excuses for Marmol may go from mechanical, to mental, to “he’s tipping his pitches,” to physical.
The Cubs had said they believed they had fixed Marmol’s mechanics. Is another trip to the shop in order, or a trip to the Valley of the Sun?

Â
Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the brilliant baseball mind of former Cubs commentator Steve Stone may be jumping from the White Sox radio booth to the TV booth.
I’m sure I’m not the only Cubs fan who’s been listening to more Sox games this season because of Stoney. And the same will go for watching the Sox on TV if he indeed does make the switch.Â
It doesn’t matter what team Stoney’s broadcasting for; the man simply knows his baseball. No cheesy catch phrases, just pure genius insight. How he isn’t a GM or manager of an MLB team by now is beyond me.
Too bad my TV remote doesn’t have a Hawk Harrelson mute button.
