Music to my ears

Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the brilliant baseball mind of former Cubs commentator Steve Stone may be jumping from the White Sox radio booth to the TV booth.

I’m sure I’m not the only Cubs fan who’s been listening to more Sox games this season because of Stoney. And the same will go for watching the Sox on TV if he indeed does make the switch.

It doesn’t matter what team Stoney’s broadcasting for; the man simply knows his baseball. No cheesy catch phrases, just pure genius insight. How he isn’t a GM or manager of an MLB team by now is beyond me.

Too bad my TV remote doesn’t have a Hawk Harrelson mute button.

why put this article it the cubs corner… Its a sox story the cubs had him and told him to leave because the players didn’t like him… But why do you take this chance to diss hawk harrelson. You are just an upset cubs fan.. cubs karma it will come back to bite you

I agree with you, Jason. Cheap shots against Hawk Harrelson are uncalled for, especially since Sun-Times Sox writer Joe Cowley is much more deserving of dissing.

    Jason,
Thanks for the comment. But, I’m hardly an upset fan. The Cubs have the best record in the NL and just won a series over St. Louis. What is there to be upset about?

Besides, even if I wasn’t a Cubs fan, I would still take the chance to “diss” Hawk. He’s a horrible play-by-play broadcaster. His commentary is nothing but repetitive Hawkisms.
