No, this isn’t a pretty picture.
But I’m done trying to apologize for Kosuke Fukudome making the NL All-Star team as a starter.
Sure, since his solid start through May (.310, 3 HRs, 21 RBIs, 35 BB/33K), Fukudome has slumped the last six weeks heading into the All-Star break (.234, 4 HRs, 15 RBIs, 20 BB/36K).
He’s going to field his position at Gold Glove-caliber level at Yankee Stadium. And that’s more than I can say for the left fielder voted in, Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun, who is to fielding prowess as Brett Favre is to commitment.
I want the Nationals to win this All-Star Game. Fielding will help.
