How did we get to this point?

Alfonso Soriano is going to help Kosuke Fukudome get his swing back.
That’s right. Free-swinging Fonsie will correct the great disciplined Kosuke.
But I do like Soriano’s approach. We must remember that Fukudome is thousands of miles away from home, and perhaps he’s hit his homesick wall.
Still, I hope Lou Piniella doesn’t follow through on his threat to sit Fukudome for an extended period. It’s bad enough the fans and media are ga-ga over Edmonds’ Web Gem-inducing dives. Wake up! Felix Pie makes all those catches without leaving his feet.
Fukudome is saving runs with his defense. Compare that with the formula needed in Milwaukee and, now, Arizona: Do Ryan Braun and Adam Dunn drive in more runs with their bat than they let in with their gloves?

You’ve got to give up on your Felix Pie man love - at least for this season. Edmonds and Reed Johnson give the cubs a much better chance to win than Pie can. I think Pie will be a good player, but not if he only plays two to three times a week as a defensive replacement.
