In my lineup today, I’d bat Kosuke Fukudome seventh. No offense to Fukudome (or from him lately), but Ryan Theriot leads the club in hitting and has done just about everything you’d want a No. 2 hitter to do.

I think Lou thinks that moving Fukudome ahead of Derek Lee will mean Fukudome will see better pitches.

A few posts ago I said I would have had Jim Edmonds bat fifth and Fukudome seventh against the Cardinals.  Edmonds had two homers that day. If he had batted fifth, the Cubs may not have needed late-inning heroics to win.

Lou, my advice is free. Log on and read it.

    Hi Lou,

Just wondering if anyone has considered giving Soriano the nickname “Hop” yet… no pun intended.

Whatever works to catch the ball… Soriano is worthy of a nickname and just thought ‘Hop” fits him quite well.

Anyway, great job to all of you Cubs this year. We love you!
