A nuclear bomb is not an option

A former colleague, when asked to pick a favorite in a Cowboys-Packers game, said he hoped a nuclear bomb would fall on the stadium and wipe out both teams. He despised both teams that much. He was joking, I think.
If he were to be asked the same question about the Cardinals-Brewers series, he’d probably have the same response, but we here at C-Notes are not that bloodthirsty. (Or is it radiation thirsty?)
C-Note contributor Tony Garcia called to say that he’s going against baseball logic and hoping the Brewers sweep the Cardinals and put a stake in the heart of St. Louis’ post-season hopes. He said he’s going to root for the better team because he dislikes the Cardinals that much.
Because I love everybody, I hope the two-game series is a split so the Cubs can gain ground on both teams as they sweep the Pirates.
I’d like to see the Cubs maintain a comfortable, but not insurmountable, lead. If the race stays relatively close, I think it will keep the team sharp for the playoffs.

Actually, Wally, one of us has been that bloodthirsty: http://blogs.e-rockford.com/cubs/2008/07/21/shall-we-play-a-game/
