Cubs first under review

Thursday’s 7 p.m. Cubs-Phillies game at Wrigley Field will be the first official MLB game under the newly approved instant replay system.
Does this go hand-in-hand with MLB’s push to speed up game-play?
It’s possible. Instead of having a manager storm out of the dugout to dispute a close home run decision for five to seven minutes, the review system could limit the confusion to only a couple of minutes.Â
Then again, don’t think Lou Piniella will hesitate to argue with a TV monitor if a Cubs’ basket shot is reversed.

I\’m an avid cub fan betrayed by Charter cable. Charter sent out a flyer to Rockton residents indicating that beginning August 20th they would carry Comcast Sports Net on channel 29. Now they claim this was a mistake. As a result, if the games are not broadcast on WGN we have no access. I guess we can watch all the Brewer games instead!!!! Let\’s do something about it! Could a Register Star reporter look into the matter? Call your village! How about a petition. The annoucement came from Lisa Washa at the Charter Wisconsin office. I don\’t need my MTV. I want my Cubs on TV!!
