Cubs should be glad to miss Mets

Gotta like this playoff matchup. If I’m the Cubs, I want no part of Manny Ramirez, but that’s easy, just intentionally walk him. But I also wanted no part of Johan Santana, and with the Mets home for the playoffs, that’s no longer a concern.

Santana, as good as he is, can’t pitch three games in a five-game series. The Mets other starters wouldn’t scare the best hitters on our softball team. Besides, he’s not as good as Sabbathia and the Cubs won two of the three games he started.

The Cubs got two runs in the first three innings off Santana on Sept. 23 without Theriot, DeRosa, Ramirez and Soto in the lineup! And the Mets bullpen had to work its way up 17 levels just to reach putrid!
The Mets would have been the preferable opponent, but I’ll take the Cubs chances against all comers, even if they have ex-Twins on the team.
