I just saw Boylan’s freshman volleyball phenom for the first time tonight, and Bryanna Weiskircher is the real deal.
Judging by her performance tonight, the 6-foot-0 middle blocker and setter is the best player this area has produced since Keith’s Jordan Haverly, who is now at Indiana. Tonight Weiskircher had nine assists, nine aces and five kills in Boylan’s 25-10, 25-14 win against Harlem. We will be seeing a lot of this girl for the next four years, and I can’t wait to see how far she goes.
Yes, we know Bryanna is very good. But have you noticed that Guilford’s Hannah Stanley has top stats in every category? I’m almost certain that she’s the one you should be writing about. You may get talent like Adeja Lambert and Bryanna Weiskircher, but it’s a lot more rare to find talent like her. She’s one of the most down to earth people you’ll ever meet as well. She may one of the top players in the NIC 10 but you’d never know it by her attitude. You should really be checker her out.
Thanks for the comment. I have seen Hannah play for three years now, and you’re right, she is very good. She runs the court and leads her team as well as anyone in the area. Bryanna’s stats are not as good as Hannah’s, true. But she’s only played varsity for two weeks. I’ve only seen her once, and time will tell. But from what I’ve seen, I still say she’s the best all-around talent I’ve seen in our area in years.
Viking fan, Hannah dose not lead in the digs category, nor is she even close. In last nights Boylan vs Guiford match, Boylan dominated Guilford. If it wasn’t for Boylans (8) missed serves in game 1 in would of been 25-11 again as it was in game 2. I do agree that Bryanna is good, but Boylan’s Libero Molly Bender is the best Libero in the conference with the all around court knowledge and style of play, she is a natural at the position. It seems that Boylan’s back row never gets any credit, it’s always about the hitters or setters or blockers. What it takes is that first pass to set up the whole thing up front. The people up front do not get there stats unless it starts in the back first.
