Anyone else surprised by virtually no national media coverage of the arrest Aug. 5 of Katie Stockton of Rockton for allegedly leaving her newborn daughter to die on the side of the road in the middle of winter? And of the discovery of two more dead infants found last week in the trunk of a car that Stockton owned?
I thought for sure that CNN’s Nancy Grace would have had something to say about it.

No surprise, she’s got a face made for radio (or newspaper in this case).
I have asked the same questions, in fact I sent and e-mail to cnn and nancy grace wanting to know why this has not hit national news. My God it is 3 babies and has taken years to track. We know that at least two babies deaths could have been prevented. And what if those babies were alive when that car was taken by south beloit has anyone considered that possiblity?
I am very suprised that there is no national news coverage. Had she been a man or a minority- there definetly would be national news coverage. The scales are totally unbalanced in the media and the justice systems for white men and minorities vs. white women.
Give her time, and, I guarantee ,she’ll be allover it. Maybe she’s waiting for solid info on the other two babies
Thank you! I was wondering the exact same thing. Especially after the 2nd finding. I keep checking CNN to see if they have anything about it and am stunned everytime to see nothing. This should be national news!! I might call Nancy Grace tonight and bring it up…think it would work? This is a much bigger deal than published!!
I wondered the same thing.
I thought for sure she would too.
Geo,
I hope that you are not pushing some sort of national media attention for this case. Althought it may create business for you, it would be doing a disservice to this community. Do you not reacall that we are already nearly the worst place to live according to Money Magazine? Must we add fuel to the fire? Do we want the national media to portray Rockford as a baby killing hotbed? Please consider dropping your request for media attention. I feel it is misguided and would have negavive effects on our community.
Thank goodness there isn’t more national coverage. It’s not a national story. The last thing the world needs is more blather from Nancy Grace.
Andy: Well, actually, Stockton is from Rockton, not Rockford. So I don’t know that Rockford would suffer a black eye from national coverage. And my image of Rockton is more upscale, small-town.
Whenever I watch Nancy Grace, I can’t even remember the names of the cities where horrendous acts were committed against children. I remember the kids, the moms/families and the circumstances, but not the city’s name.
To all: Sorry it took so long to get your comments posted. They used to post practically automatically, but I now have to physically check the comments section to approve them. And I neglected to do so in a timely manner.
It made the newspapers in Florida.
