A week after a deal was reported about Rockford native Shawn Ryan helping develop a crime drama for CBS, Deadline is reporting that Ryan will help create a pilot for an ABC drama : “Last Resort.”
It’s a thriller about a U.S. nuclear submarine crew that ignores an order to shoot nuclear missiles and escapes to a NATO post, where the society the fugitives create is explored.
Ryan, who lives in Los Angeles, also will develop a new crime drama for CBS with Simon Mirren, whose credits include “Criminal Minds” and “Without a Trace.”
Ryan created “The Chicago Code” and “The Shield” and executive produced “Terriers” and “Lie to Me.”
I am still SO disappointed with the cancellation of “Chicago Code” by FOX and still think that there was something very strange about that. Was it too close to the true “Chicago politics”?? It was one of the best programs I have ever seen and millions of other people agree with me on that.
