Emily Bear, 10, of Rockford criss-crossed the United States in December for piano performances.
On Dec. 2, Emily performed at Carnegie Hall, one of the most prestigious venues in the world for classical and popular music. She performed two original pieces she composed for full symphony, choir and soloists, as well as an original arrangement of “Silent Night” that she composed.
This was Emily’s second appearance at Carnegie Hall, having made her debut there last year. See her recent perform in a video at.
On Thursday, Dec. 8, Emily performed at the UNICEF Ball in Los Angeles, one of the most notable black-tie galas in Los Angeles. The star-studded event included Quincy Jones, Matthew Morrison (from Glee), Nicole Richie, Kate Walsh, Kristen Bell, Sean Penn, and Brooklyn Decker, among others. Emily is the daughter of Andrea and Brian Bear of Rockford. She has performed at the White House and several times on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
