Former Rockfordian finds steady on TV series
A reality TV show has netted a bachelor and former Rockfordian a months-long relationship and his mother a few laughs.
Frank L. Zimmermann, a 1991 graduate of Rockford Lutheran High School who lives in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., appeared on VH1’s “Tough Love Miami,” which featured seven women seeking relationship advice from the host and matchmaker and seven men they dated. The finale for the series taped earlier this year was Dec. 11. The women were sequestered for 10 weeks in a Ft. Lauderdale mansion, except for their outings which included a Bahamas cruise.

Christina Sawyer, a senior at Rockford Christian High School, won first place int he commercial/popular category of the Illinois Music Educators Assocation All-State Composition Contest. Emily Bear plays New York/LA in past week
Emily Bear, 10, of Rockford criss-crossed the United States in December for piano performances.
On Dec. 2, Emily performed at Carnegie Hall, one of the most prestigious venues in the world for classical and popular music. She performed two original pieces she composed for full symphony, choir and soloists, as well as an original arrangement of “Silent Night” that she composed.

Famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright isn’t just making headlines in Rockford today, he’s in the spotlight in Hollywood.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Bruce Beresford has signed on to develop and direct “Taliesin,” a film about fabled American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The title refers to the Wisconsin-born architect’s former home and studio near Spring Green, Wis., where key events in the film take place. Wright built Taliesin for he and his married mistress Martha “Mamah” Cheney.
