what has the ipod done to this country?

while many (ok, probably all) electronics are made of plastic, i wonder whether inventions like “video on demand” and the mp3s on the ipod have cut down on plastic consumption. or even netflix, since renting seems better than buying.
in a quick google search, i didn’t see anything come up.

good question. i’m working from home so don’t have access to our archives, but i’m pretty sure there’s a group in town that takes that stuff, repairs it and donates it to rockford public schools.
i found this link: http://webs.rps205.com/departments/IT/donated.html …
and this one:
http://www.pcsforschools.org/national/ildev.html
anyone else have ideas?
